A late brood of Barn Owls successfully fledged at Moat Farm this month! Mike Bax has sent in photos of these beautiful owls being ringed and health checked.
The breeding pair had been unsuccessful at raising a brood earlier in the year, but they had another go and two healthy males, ready to fledge, were ringed last week.
One of conservation’s big success stories, the population of Barn Owls has increased over recent years. To keep this success moving forward, it’s important for landowners to provide roosting and nesting sites.
