Farmland Winter Wildlife Survey

Members across nine different member farms worked on the Nature’s Sure Connected monitoring project to collect and share data to understand the state of nature in our catchment. This biodiversity project used the transect survey method based on a 1km square resolution and monitoring took place over four months between November 2020 and February 2021. In the survey period, our members submitted 322 reports of transects walked and monitored.

With a target of monitoring 30 species, over the survey period 24 of the target were recorded and measured. One of our members – Moat Farm – recorded 15 of the target species!

The survey results gave members the opportunity to understand the state of nature in the wider landscape and collect and share data on the impact of conservation actions in the catchment.
