On Monday 16th January the Upper Beult Farmer Cluster Steering Group had a meeting to discuss ideas shared at the Christmas get together and what the goals are for the year ahead. Key points raised included; priority species and how we can support them, progress of natural capital assessments and nightingale surveys, future events and Southern Water trials, grants and schemes. It was also an opportunity to reflect on the clusters aims below:
- Create connectivity of biodiversity and habitats across the cluster using nightingales as the flagship species
- Develop knowledge and understanding of current and future opportunities for funding such as NbS (Nature-based Solutions)
- Work on trials to improve water quality (changing farm habits and creating biodiversity)
